There is no federal law prohibiting guns transported in the cab of a truck, company policies yes, but they are not law. The rest is subject to personal opinion. I don't believe companies have a right to override constitutional rights. What you do with it is your choice. I do have a ccw but that is generally not good out of CA, but depends on the states and county, sometimes the city. Get a ccw in the county you live in, that's a start. A fire extinguisher is probably a better self defense weapon in a sleeper than a firearm, discharging a firearm carries a lot of responsibility I won't go into here.

i realize most companies have a firearms policy so that’s why I’m asking this in the owner operators forum. I have a dump control pedestal between my 2 seats in my 379 and have a paddle holster I was thinking about disassembling. Gonna take the paddle part off and screw the holster part into the dump control box on the side nearest to the passenger seat and mount my gun there so it’s at easy access instead of the glove box.

Have any of you come up with any unique ideas?

IF I were to carry in the truck. It would be in an UNLOCKED safe next to the seat

If I was to carry it would be to defend myself inside the truck. I don’t get out in bad areas. I do my best to avoid parking in bad areas but sometimes it happens. At night if I had a firearm it would stay beside me. Driving it would be secured in a locked container with personal items. You don’t give up your fourth or fifth amendment by driving a truck
