Thanks man, I went crazy with the tape measure making sure everything was just right, I set up the ramps so as that they are about 1/4" below the face of the 5th wheel with it tilted back, the ramps on either side extend up so the sloped section of the 5th wheel easily picks up the rollers before they run out of ramp. What is nice about that too is you get some feedback before the king pin hits the jaws so you can put the clutch in so you aren't slamming the drivetrain really hard.
Where is everyone #2!!

Only RGN I've ever pulled was an air type setup, and I never had to remove the neck from the truck. Is that common with a hydraulic setup compared to a mechanical?? Ours was a Cheetah Challenger and it ran off of the air system. Awesome trailer but it only had a 24' well. But it also only hauled our little dozer, front end loader and heavy fork lift. This was also 15yrs ago. -

The reason so many ramps wind up looking like playdough is they build them out of too thin of material, and they don't add any support to the inside, on mine there is a pice of 3/8" flat bar welded in every 6" on the inside as a rib to add structure, it will keep the sidewalls from squashing out.SHC Thanks this. -

SHC Thanks this.

Hydraulic necks dont need dropping.
And if you drop a mechanical RGN on blocks, it can make loading some equipment a LOT harder. I never drop on blocks unless I am just dropping the trailer and leaving.
MartinSHC Thanks this.
