Plenty of losers in trucking. In fact, there is only 1 thing that prevents this industry from being COMPLETELY overrun by loser.
Drug testing.

@MagnumaMoose I haven’t heard anything yet about what the thinking is on the Saudi refinery fire yet, but I imagine the trickle-down effect will take a bit to hit us.

That chicken used to be the best bargain on the menu there in 08 and 09. Still wasn't a bad price last I checked.PoleCrusher, Tall Mike, Zeviander and 11 others Thank this. -
Change of plans!
Picking up in Hot Springs, AR (likely tomorrow) and headed to Prince George, BC (woo miles!).
I'm guessing the travel through Ouachita National Forest is anything but flat? Given that coming out through Little Rock loaded adds only 9 minutes of Google time but 50 miles to the journey back north. So going in empty is nice for sightseeing but I'm going to want to avoid coming out loaded?
Probably going to stay in Royal, AR at the Royal Pit Stop for the night. Save me some time tomorrow for getting gone. We also get a great price at Workman's Travel Plazas so I'm definitely going to hit up the one on the I40 near Ozark. It is on my "want to go" list.7-UP, PoleCrusher, Tall Mike and 13 others Thank this. -
I know I sound cheap but it was like $3.80 or something a couple years back and The Cookout chain was selling three strips on a bun with lettuce and tomato for a buck. They've gone up to $1.70 or something but it's still less than half price compared to WH.
Y'all ever eat at The Cookout ? I don't like the burgers but the BBQ sandwich is a bargain and tasty. I'm sure that it's not up to snuff for real BBQ aficionados but I like it and have never had a bad piece of meat in one in 8 years. Shoulder I think ? Cooked and shredded on a bun with coleslaw and Texas Pete ( much better than Green Bay Pete. From what I've heard. ). Delicious and cheap. My favorite combination.PoleCrusher, Tall Mike, Zeviander and 10 others Thank this. -
And yeah theres not really a good way to get north and south in that part of the state. It's pretty much up hill turn down hill turn repeat.
Also out 70 to I30 up to I430 to I40 is the best way to get out. The mountains are all 2 lane roads so empty youd likely be fine but loaded I believe you'll be overweight on some of those roads/bridges.
Where ya coming from?PoleCrusher, Tall Mike, 1951 ford and 10 others Thank this. -
@ShooterK2,@MagnumaMoose
