I have to laugh at how polarizing the attire argument is among truckers. One half seems to go to bed in steel toes and a tucked in dickies shirt with cowhide gloves and trucker hat on. The other half says if all i can ever see is a windshield i may as well dress like im at the beach.

I will say that on a bad day i probably make $5/hr. And i sure aint dressin up for that. I could drive in a tux but it wont earn me a cent extra. Nor give me any of that extra sense of pride people talk so much about. Im proud of how i treat my wife, raise my kids and keep my word. Not the rags i put on every morningto do it.

 

You take no pride in your personal appearance? MLK said “no man is so poor he can’t afford a bar of soap”.

 

Nope. I wash daily. My hands get dirty and my conscience stays clean. MLK is entitled to his opinion.
