There’s a shop near me that has a good looking K98 for about $1500. For that price I’m guessing it’s numbers matching.
Now in the case of my two, my laminate stock is a 1945 with numbers matching made in Bystrica during the German occupation. That could probably fetch a higher price now than I paid for it. The walnut stock is a ‘41 Russian capture with the Ukraine stamp on the stock.
RC’s are typically frowned upon by the collector snobs, but I like mine.
And for God’s sake don’t buy one from Mitchell’s Mausers. They are the worst fraud artists around. They buy RC rifles, sand the stocks, peen all the markings off, and advertise the rifles as “found in some warehouse somewhere unissued”.
