We've been stuck in AZ since Monday. Our holiday plans were canceled by Rona. Its great seeing people getting some good family time though.

 

I’m sorry you got stuck on the road. I was fortunate enough to make it home for both, but have to hit the new year hard.

He’s got a red W9, and a flatbed and a Pete 579. He loves hauling tractors and dozers around. Hopefully he continues in the open deck world.

 

Thinking about making some chili tomorrow.

 

Cannot go wrong with a big ol pot of chili. Make enough and eat good for a few days.

Really? I doubt it. (although obviously I wasn't there) Human instinct is to create sanity out of chaos but in all truth it's still chaos. People just do weird stuff and they're usually way to self absorbed to let other people be much of an influence. From the attitude you project here I don't find the prey explanation plausible. Unless your behavior is quite different IRL. Karen type Whiners and crybabies like reassuring co-whiners or else a scene they can be victim in. Neither scenario fits. So I'm guessing it was totally random.
Except for 3rd world countries, serious ghettos, and the guys who use the word beta a lot the rest of the modern world isn't overly predator/prey oriented just surviving and self absorbed.

Had my youngest sis call me today to talk to a friend of hers who was recently widowed after 25yrs of marriage. Some dud that works at the funeral home spotted her. They have been corresponding for 1 week. I had to explain to her HOW dud spotted her and that he will more than likely become abusive. Then she tells me that dud has 2 previous battery charges.

“But Six, he’s not like that anymore. He’s a changed man...”

Sure. Anyways, just an example of predators in our world. You are probably correct about my situation and I thank you for your thoughts.
