Ok, now that Im parked for a few I can type out my responses instead of voice to text at 63mph lol.

Ive definitely thought about that. I guess at that point I call it even and say it was rent? I'm really trying to look at all possibilities good and bad. Maybe have him show me the monthly statement that the note is being paid. We are leased to the same co and I'd have them pay him every week out of my escrow account, so his payment is guaranteed.

That 2019 is basically the same exact trailer so if I were to go that route, I'd be about the same $ at the end with interest built in.

Funny enough I'm about 20mi from that trailer dealer at this moment.

I just called another dealer in Dallas and he sent me a few options they have including a '14 combo for about 33k. But its definitely seem some miles.

I'd be watching Auctiontime. Wouldn't doubt you pick up a late model step well under 25k.

Todays ending auctions should have results posted. Might give you an idea of other possibilities.

Me personally. I wouldn't buy from anybody with those terms.

If I get my own independent financing, the I could absolutely see going that route. I have no issues with auction stuff because I've learned out to check equipment out and not buy with emotion.

I was hoping this time it was more of a dont sweat getting some awesome deal, hit the easy button and get a good trailer, option. But thats why I posted asking.

Ps. Congrats on the grandpa thing. Im just a dad, but if you can, be like my grandpas who were awesome.

He was a truck driver. In a diner in a residential area nowhere near a truck route sitting at the lunch counter telling his entire employment history. His grandfather is 16, entering the military for WWII (plausible)gets certified by Wilbur Wright, who according to the obituaries had been dead for two decades.
