The one that you are listing is the recon part number, same thing. I edited my post between you posting that and after I originally posted mine. I was using a different truck, newer esn from the fleet I work on and got that part number. Also using two computers so it slows things down a bit on my side.

Ok, great. I asked because I know RX is for reman/reconditioned parts.
    Thanks

Well, when I use the newer esn from a 2014 manufacture date I got 3687930 as the part number so it seems that they did change part number for a truck 1 year newer. Wonder why they would do that?

Two 8mm headed bolts, one zip tie, and a 7/8 inch o2 sensor socket can make quick work of changing it. Otherwise you will need a 22mm wrench for the nut on the sensor itself.

I'm guessing the zip tie is to hold the water shield up and away?

Nope, you will cut it to remove the wire. It holds the wire away from the turbo and is tied to a line running near the path it wants to take. Without that zip tie there is the chance of the wire hitting the turbo and melting after prolonged contact.

Make sure you got right sensor from the dealer. Intake sensor has aluminum foil shield on wire. The outlet doesn't.
But before buying new sensor check the plug connection. If +12 volts connection is bad it will throw this co

Ok, yesterday when I called the dealership, the parts guy could not find the intake sensor - he was looking at engine components. Today I got a different guy and he knew to look under after-treatment components. He found part 3687334RX but showed NOT in stock and NOT in any local warehouses. He called Cummins and they said drop the RX from the number, and he HAD those in stock, without the RX. Will replace it Monday.

Ok...for anyone that has a Cummins engine, you should go do this now. Register your ESN, put in your fault code, and pow! You get descriptions, pictures, everything. I wish I did it a long time ago.

I'm going to the Detroit site to put my Detroit engines in there, too.

I was going to replace the NOx sensor Monday morning. Right now, my driver is about 2 hours away from home and the engine went into derate. Limited to 15mph. Is there anything he can do to reset on site to get him home?
