Or we could just tax the heck out of everything coming out of China and lower taxes for American manufacturing. Bring back the manufacturing and you bring back trucker wages. The problem there is too many politicians have too much of their personal money in foreign stocks and green energy. Those stocks they own do not promote American manufacturing or the trucking industry. They are trying to kill both industries with 1 stone,

Manufacturing IS DEAD in the US, we no longer have the labor to move it back.

China as much as it seems to be the worst place to have things made, we need to do more than tax imports and ruin our economy in doing so.

How are rates on trucking simulator?

How many ran out and financed overpriced computer, screen, steering wheel and pedals? Maybe a VR system? Also, now with food being high, snacking has been halved.

Who never leaves the basement, in hopes Mom forgets you’re down there?

    Hard times indeed.

I see your point and I’m not trying to discredit anyone
But there are many places with good jobs
Like I have mentioned before places like LS. Mercer etc
These companies didn’t become what they are on a 100% bad reputation
Yes. You hear a lot of negative reply’s to all companies and yet there are those who have been there for years and make $$$$

When we see someone at a so called bad company making it we then hear reply’s like they are az kissing or ?

I personally don’t keep what I do a total secret but I also don’t advertise it
I don’t tell but maybe 2 people outside my family what I do or where I work

You could be making $$$$ and the next guy doing the same thing could be going broke
Even if we all worked for that Great big money company it would still be up to each of us to a) prove ourselves and b) have the work ethics and equipment that the company or agent wants doing their top tier work. Or maybe even any of it??
When you first start any company whether it be trucking or Walmart greater it won’t be until you show otherwise why you are worth more than what they initially offered you

We all tie our shoes differently. Some stay tied, some are always loose and yet others just use Velcro or tape
Aren’t they all just shoes doing the same job?

It’s sorta like if I invited everyone on this forum over for a huge party
I promise you there would be those ( and I think I could name them ) that I would have over again and there would be others I’d like to never see again

Same is true with us drivers
Some of us are a dream find for a company and some of us a total nightmare

Might look at it from a carriers view.

Take a truck that was running spot and now wants to run contract. You know when spot inches up over contract they will refuse it and want spot again. Now you're out a truck for your contract.

Take a truck that was running contract and wants the reliability and consistent money of contract. And has seen the ups/downs many times.

    Which one is more desirable?

Reminds me of drivers who want percentage, only to leave you high and dry when per mile is the winner. No thanks.

Own authority dropped and wants to lease on, O/O wants to drive company.

Unless you know them well, you're going to get the "that's not the way i did it" speech. Being the ### i am my reply is always:
I didn't have to sell my equipment
    I didn't have my equipment repo'd
So maybe my way is better. LOL

    Yes.

In the past when I did run with carriers with contract freight they did shady things so I moved away from that.

Do you not consider yourself a business owner being leased to a carrier?

The key is to lock down good contracts in the first place to lessen the odds of that happening.

If I know i can run let's say $4 mile all the time with contracts locked up long term.
Then I see on the spot market I see I can run $4.50-$5 a mile is it worth the headache and risk of switching to spot market and run off to a new carrier, no.

If my carrier is offering me trash and I know I could earn double in the open market, now that is a different story.
