It's definitely NOT an O/O's world out there these days, good sir. And those that ARE successful are probably NOT gonna be prone to sharing, at this time, in ths unstable economy.

Sorry about all the 'food play,' haha~! Some of usn's ole'hands around here get carried away on a 'day off' per se.

I sincerely wish you well, however. Were I you, I would certainly look into either leasing on with a notable company (L/S will take you after a year, I believe, on your own) or open that good ole' book they call 'yellow pages' and start cold calling.

^^^^ THAT is how the O/O I used to pull asphalt form, got his contract with Shelly Company in Toledo, Ohio. Man, we banked. He was the owner; I, just 'a' driver. Winter months, he got a contract with United Precast, right up the road from his home / truckyard.

And I FOUND HIM from a tiny little 'real estate' sized sign, looking for 'a driver' with 5 plus years experience hauling all freight. Twas a great 6 years of earnings for us both.

    It's do'able.

Structure your thoughts into paragraphs, we're dumb truckers and have short attention spans, most have already stopped reading my drivel post by now. I just called your mother the 'C' word - see, nobody is reading now.

I might even AGREE with you....she 'was' at times thru my growing up years, but is in a home now. So.... be nice.

Ya know, I mad respect y'all... just saying.

Carry on, peeps. Great advice, from B & G, O/P.

Dude if that's all the money per mile you need to make it, take a look at Bruce Oakley. $1.55 mile & up dragging a hopper or $1.90 & up end dump, or $2.02 on a pneumatic. All pay ~$1.50 on deadhead miles, & they supply the wagon..
