Where is the real people that actually wanna help???

First welcome to the board, second there are many members here who are MORE THAN WILLING to help out a new driver or someone who is looking to get into the trucking industry.

Yes there are some real horror stories here; and after a few years experience most drives could post a few themselves.Readers must remember that not every company is going to work for every driver, KNOWING of a complaint/problem could help the next driver out there looking to switch companies. I suggest everyone read the so called negative posts with a grain of salt BUT keep the info in the back of your mind so that when you start to deal with a company you have a "heads up" when you start to see/hear things that just dont add up.

As a truckers wife I would hope that I am able to suggest posts to people with questions that will help them find the answer they need; suggest ideas for problems, support the wife or s/o of a new driver, and use MY experiences to answer questions too.

Please remember that there are just some people who never have anything good to say "the whinners of the world" AND that there are REAL issues in the trucking industry that people need to know about.

I think this site DOES help people just getting into the industry, AND those who have been driving for years; it DOES provide useful info on rule changes, truck problems, how to survive out there on a daily basis, some legal issue suggestions and also a place to just rant if need be. The members here do an awesome job trying to help.

 

And it does put them in contact with the legend notarps...

 

Notarps is a legend???? Wow, and here I thought you were just knowledgeable.

Yup welcome to the forum, be warned some of my threads will have some satire in them. Too many gloomy other posters here.

 

I'm pretty new to this forum myself.. but I'm not new to trucking. I try to answer all posts I am familiar with to the best of my ability, or at least point you in the right direction so others can help. I am not always right but I do try to be as accurate and professional as possible, and there are many I found on this forum who do the same and the best they can do to try and help others with their questions... Including the posters above me. But just like out on the road, you have your good and not so good on these pages.

So far I have had a pretty positive experience here. Most every question I have asked has been addressed and answered by very positive insightful people here.
I guess this thread gives me the chance to thank those who helped me.

 

You will find that the more you read here the more you will learn who the members are who have a better perspective on the industry and a better perspective/outlook on life in general. Many of the seemingly negative posts here come from drivers who are earnestly trying to "tell it like it is". They will usually back up what they say with facts or with their own personal experience. There are other drivers here who just need to get something off their chests. No problem, it's a forum.....the rant just takes up space.
Keep reading and you'll soon find who your "go-to" drivers are and who your "scroll on by" drivers are. There are the OPWs too, the One Post Wonders, who just spew their venom and move on. Again, pass 'em by!
You've gotta take the bad with the good.....just take more of the good, okay?

Believe me, lot's of helpful folks around here. Just watch out for OLnewbe there. Get a cup of coffee in him and he never stops asking questions. (in case you can't tell, that my satire)

Seriously OP, ask your questions! Lot's of us guys and gals love to pass on info, both good and bad. If I ever say something bad about a situation it's because I've seen it with my own eyes and I'm just warning you what to look out for. I'd say that would be true of 90% of the posters here.

You can find lots of help here and get information that has help other drivers. I don't see much of the brow beating with other drivers but I do see alot of it with companies. I would say when you see drivers being put down by more than one person it's because the information that driver is putting out is completely wrong and could get another driver in trouble or worse hurt or killed. I like to hope so anyway and if there are one or two once in awhile brow beating then I just consider the source and find out real fast who's being idiotic.

If you take any subject matter and analyze all the responses you're going to either find out what works or what doesn't work. Everyone has different experiences with companies just like no two trucks are the same.
