First of all, I am sorry that any money had to be spent on one of our trucks right out of the gate.
I am the GM of Lone Mountain so you can take my 2 cents however you like. But we do let anyone take the truck to as many shops as they want before they leave with their truck. Dyno, DOT, fluid samples.... whatever the customer wants. We have had numerous people bring their own mechanic to the lot to pick out their truck. We have no problem with this. It does us no good to sell a truck that isn't ready to go to work.
However, we do not have an open checkbook to any shop in the country. If something comes up in any of these inspections, we are happy to fix it at our shop. If we said that we would pay for any repair at any shop in the country, we would get robbed blind.
We definitely don't have any arrangement with the shops we recommend. If something is wrong, we want to fix it.
You don't need to be a mechanic to see most DOT issues with a truck, so it seems pretty amazing that there was actually $4300 worth of repairs that we missed, the customer missed, and the shop that gave it a passing DOT missed.
California shops are some of the worst for making up bogus repairs.123456, SHC, Newtrucker48 and 4 others Thank this. -
I find it hard to believe that there would be $4,300 in repairs that are needed to pass a DOT inspection. A repair that was that pricey should be easy to spot. What repairs does the shop say you need?
JHoovestol, groundpounder and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -

Well I hardly even have time to post here anymore but I thought I would make some final thoughts on our purchase experience at "Lone Mountain"

Funny we were led to believe we HAD to go to YOUR shop???

You DO have a responsibility to be 1) Honest 2) Sell equipment that doesn't break down less than 500 miles later??? I find it unfortunate that you like to focus on what you DONT do rather than how you take care of paying customers.
RE> We definitely don't have any arrangement with the shops we recommend. If something is wrong, we want to fix it
Lone Mountain absolutely refused to make things right!!!??? and we spoke to you several times on this matter, we even just asked to cover just HALF the problem that occurred less that 10 hours later from driving off, again you refused to make it right or even to listen to us!!!.
But off course 1) You had our money 2) We were broke down at the Volvo dealership, in Sparks, NV.

You know we said the SAME thing, of course it was the shop you not only recomended but your "saleperson" basicly just said, "GO here", he NEVER said, "But you can choose anyone you want" Being new to the purchasing of a truck (It was our first one) and after now having driven both for OO's and for a Company I can see how naive we were to believe anything coming from Lone Mountain.
RE> California shops are some of the worst for making up bogus repairs.
Are you an idiot? Where does this come from? We broke down and had to get repairs in Sparks, NV Volvo dealership (and by their YELP and other online directories comparing repair shops) they have a fine reputation as opposed to Lone Mountain, check your YELP rating someday lol.
All I can say is I am a lone individual who had a lousy experience with LM, I will never use them and I make a point of telling as many drivers and people NOT to use LM for purchasing a truck....and I like to talk...a lot! -
I may be an idiot....but I have also run trucks into CA. Usually in CA I pay about triple what I pay for the same repairs elsewhere in the country.
groundpounder Thanks this. -
JHoovestol Thanks this.
