I just feel like I’ve been pocket checked by the sleeziest “brokers” when I thought I was contacting companies that had trucks and drivers as employees.

Amongst everything else… Im a little old school. I don’t mind paying a good wage to someone who is doing the work. I hate paying a good dollar to some one who is playing smoke and mirrors.

where should a client go if he is trying to get his new truck (and possibly an acquaintances identical truck if it gets to the dealer in the best few days) shipped from a dealership in granger Iowa to concord California?

I was trying to get it shipped enclosed, and Since brokers will tell you yes to anything, I’m not sure it fits in an enclosed trailer. It’s a ram trx so its 88” wide.

so worst case will be not enclosed.

but where should a client be going to get these things hauled home?

Lol! If that 6x6 fits then a regular trx will fit for sure!

to be honest; I’m just trying to find a way to ship my truck in a way it’s safe and no one is getting screwed and I don’t feel unable to sit down afterwards lol.

most a bucket list truck, hence having to buy it across country. I have a 3 day window if I were to fly out and drive back. (Wife’s work schedule gives me those days) Wife doesn’t want me doing that. I have a bunch of metal in me thanks to working for Uncle Sam. I have to pull over every 2-3 hrs and move around. That makes the drive even longer.

I wish I could help him but I only haul contract freight. I really don’t know who to recommend currently. In times past I would have recommended Kansas transit, rest his soul.

I appreciate it! Wife’s been working a ton (nurse) maybe she should take a day or two off and watch the kids by herself for a few days while I drive back…
    …by myself…
    …in peace…
    …with no kids…
    …or wife…

oh I just figured out why she really wants it shipped back…

    BigBob410 and Banker Thank this.

Haha as nice as that sounds... how cool would it be to take a family trip cross country? Who cares what it costs... it’s a very cool experience.

True. But one is 2 and the other is 6… and I’m a grump and the wife is a princess

but actually it would be cool if we had a 2 week break from school and work.

we just came off of a 5 week flu and Rona combo. So vaca time is limited

I’m starting to think this trx won’t fit in an enclosed trailer…
Not to mention the chance that someone with one is headed through granger Iowa and headed out to Cali. (I’d pick it up in Reno/sparks if that helped)

Someone messaged me that they saw the broker listing the truck and my friends in the “load board” so at least I know it’s there.

    debating the following:

    1) how long I should wait on the enclosed trailer route before:

1a) switching it to an open trailer load. Debating if that’s a bad idea or not.

1b) if it’s going to get just as dirty and dinged up, I might as well drive it.

I really wish I would make up my mind lol.
Any of you guys with enclosed trailers have any advice? And you guys with open trailers: should I ship it or drive it (and save over half)?

    thanks
