    Don't say to hell....Everyone tells me that!:biggrin_25523:

But seriously, I am in a position to move my base state anywhere I want to and I'm interested in figuring out where I can base my business that's going to be the most beneficial for me.

I run all of the lower 48 and have places in Utah and California but neither of those places is particularly beneficial from a business perspective...California is out for obvious reasons and Utah is not good because their taxes are to high and they're not really very business friendly...Plus the fact that it's such a theocracy that the "church" seems to be a huge factor in the business environment and that's a bad thing!

So....If you don't mind me asking.

    Where are you based?

    Is it "trucking business" friendly?

    Would you recommend it?

I'm also gonna be interested in a small yard/shop to rent as well so I wouldn't mind if anyone could give me an idea about rental or purchase costs on this type of property.

I'll be looking for enough space for my truck and a couple of trailers with a small office and shop area.

Isn't Kansas a prefered state for Registration and base location? It seems that many of the trucks I see on the road are based in Kansas or is it Oklahoma.

Wisconsin would love to have another business to rip off, so I don't suggest coming here.

No Kidding Wisconsin is too expensive for doing biz in.

That's too bad, as I know of a place that's up for sale in my town that has shop space, place to park a couple trailers, and office space. They wanted either $200,000 or $300,000. There are tenants leasing parts of the building, so there is potential to keep income coming in with the place too. Near another trucking outfit by the name of Badger Express.

It's almost $3,000 just to register a rig, plus $500 for the WI DOT number. Only $50 to register a trailer though. State income taxes to deal with too.

I forgot to mention...I'd like it to be south of I-70 so that I don't have to constantly deal with ###### up weather.

I have been seriously considering Oklahoma because I've been told by a few guys that it's pretty "trucker friendly".

    Lilbit Thanks this.
