Where should I mount my FM transmitter for Sat Radio

    I have to use the FM transmitter for my Sat, for now, I drive a Freightliner Columbia 2006 and I was wondering where the best place is for the transmitter.... ????

    On my old unit, I found the closer it is to the deck the better they usaully work (strange b/c u would think putting it closer to the antenna would be better).

    Just my own opinion, if you don't have a tape deck, I'de use one of those Hardwire hookup's that plug into the Antenna port on the back of the deck itself (I've seen them at T/A's, might be at other truck stops too). I've used a few Transmitter type setups and can't stand it when my station gets changed to a strong signal from a local broadcast, not to mention the quality just isn't as good as a hard wire. Make sure you u can remove your deck easily and string a wire out somewhere before getting one though...

    does your radio not have an aux input? that is about the best way to hook it up.
