Where the heck is the money in sand?

I cant imagine making that much -What company do you work for? and where? Am being told left and right how oil fields pay big bucks, esp in north dakota, wyoming,etc. Halliburton called me for an interview for equipment operator/Frac trainee, but they mentioned starting pay is $13/hour!???? A water hauling company said $16/hour??? - Groendyke said am not qualified to drive tanks (i have no recordables/no points/ 4years dry van????)- i need work NOW! Help!

trucsugma, the money in oilfield is basically in the overtime you make...so far I've netted about 4000/mo hauling water at 16/hr but you have to put in the hours.

 

I won't reveal the small company that I work for, but there are tons of companies like it to choose from. I hear you can even make better money if you're willing to live in North Dakota, but that housing may be expensive. I think the OP is just not working for a good company. His money per mile sounds about right, but he should be getting a lot more miles than he is getting.

 

Things should be better now. Tutle just raised their rates. Minimum pay is now around $100/load.

 

Rates going up is a good thing to hear.

 

Hi I had some questions about the frac sand hauling in Oklahoma.I'm living in Fort Worth TX seems every body got greedy and wants to cut the pay on the driver then losing money on the truck or fuel.My questions are is any body still honest or all cut throat.If you could tell me or point me in the right direction of some body that wants a driver with a clean record to put on ???? I'm a tech by trade on semi cat3406e-cummins-detroit series 60 tired of turning a wrench and yes can drive and run frac cement tank with blower

The money is their for trucking the sand but with fuel taking a big chunk out of operating a truck and DEF fluid if it is late model.The owners of the truck are not gonna take the hit the driver is to make up for the lost. I see you put tutle and tutle and dillion they run the drivers in the ground.I went down to kyle tx to see how my friend is doing company name RED BIRD and he told me one of those companys lost a truck in the woods AKA SEGUIN TX runing the driver long hours.NO JOB IS WORTH LOSING LIFE OR TRUCK TO MAKE A LIVING OR DESTROYING YOUR DRIVING CAREER!!!

 

They would not be doing it if their was no money in it.
