Shelf life for motor oils is several years as long as it stays sealed. Just shake it a bit before using.
Earlier this summer I emptied a 6,000 gal bulk storage tank that held 15w-40, nobody had pulled any product from that tank in nearly 5 years. Drummed it up, sent to the frac fleet for oil changes, never had a problem.

 

Tractor Supply sells 5 gallon buckets of 15w-40….

 

Went to Wal Mart this morning. They had 2 2.5 gallon jugs of Delvac. No gallons or 5 gallon buckets. I bought both of them. Then I went to Oreillys,Auto Zone & Tractor Supply. They were all out although TSC had it on sale for 27.99. So I went to my local Mobil Distributor & bought 2 55 gallon barrels, $750.00 each. I hated to spend that but with 2 trucks running they will use it & I won't have to worry about trying to find it in the store for awhile.

 

I’ve had a hard time finding Delvac at Walmart. Went to autozone and O Reilly’s. Much more expensive than Walmart. I bought some Valvoline they had on sale. Didn’t use it. Ran another round, left oil at home. Found 3 cases in at a Walmart in the back auto room on a pallet. Finally changed it at 16,500 miles. Also found 8 gallons in my side box. Lol, after all that. Used it up, now I’ve got an extra 20 gallons. Will be buying it up as I see it. Just got 3 gallons yesterday. Shortages seem to be in areas that have a lot of O/Os.

 

Auto Zone & O reillys will price match Wal Mart here. You might ask next time you go in.
