thanks for all the replies. I will go to salvage yard & try to pick out the best one if any. still going to look at old one to have fixed before I go. I bought a new welder 3 months ago, have not had time to take it out the box. now would be a good time.

My seat did the same thing, I cut a few small slits in it and screwed a could of pieces of aluminum L bracket in place, problem solved. Spent about $5.heavyhaulerss Thanks this. -
My seat does the same thing. Leans back and to the right. I've been looking for a used one online. Hopefully I find one cheap before I buy one of these new leather ones.

yep mine is laid back & to the right. going to try to fix with some sheet metal screws, el brackets, e.t.c. thanks folks.

Another vote here for fixing it. I had a seat that was all tore up and was sick of the duct tape. Local upholstery shop made it better than new for $250 all in, just dropped the truck off, picked it up the next day. I bet whatever is broken inside isn't actually broken. probably just a bolt that had it's nut walk off from vibration or something. Even if some piece of metal is broken it's probably fixable. new seats are pricey.

I got the best deal on mine at the local KW dealer....300 less than online.
Just because they had a ton of them in stock.
I bought the low pro wide seat....man I love it!BeN DaViS, mtoo, mugurpe and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would probably yank out the mattress while you have the seat out and put in a sheet of used plywood to sleep on too. That way 2/3rd's of every day in your truck will suck. -

well the only decent seat I could find was on pass side. brown. no armrests. but for the seat back, a dealer only type light ( $43.00 at dealer) 1 fuel cap (127.00 at dealer) 2 dash gauges $142.00 each. got it all $ 15.00. though this shop been with since I had truck. a lot of times it's take it with you, or when I have mechanical work done & pick up my truck they'll say, we have not got your bill ready, next time your in the area stop by, no matter week month. though I would never wait more than a day or 2 to get back with payment. don't want to ruin a good thing. almost forgot.... the old seat... it had a thin sheet of metal broke off at 4 places. have no idea how, I am not a heavy person. my truck does bounce kinda rough though. I thought about getting a new one, but with over 1.7 mil on it. 20 year old truck, not going to put a $400.00 seat in it. just my frugal nature. I have replaced the mattress 3 times since I owned the truck. though it has been 2 years alil more since I slept in it. it comes out easy, no prob exchanging over seats.
