Hello everybody, 15 years company driving I'm ready to make the jump onto o/o. I have good credit and a down payment, I would need financing for a first time buyer. I've looked around several places but a lot them have terrible reviews. Any recommendations where to go? Willing to travel anywhere in Texas or surrounding states.
    Thank you.

Where the truck is purchased from makes little difference.
The place you plan to have service work at is more important.

Go to a local bank in your area and talk to someone who handles commercial loans. Be prepared to jump through a LOT of hoops if you're expecting a good interest rate.

I second the small local bank route. Perhaps a bit more work to get started with them, but it is incredibly valuable to have a working relationship with one (human) loan officer. Being able to call them directly when out on the road is very beneficial.

For what it's worth, I did exactly that in the spring of 2015.

I decided I wanted to jump into the independent pool. I developed a business plan, found a truck in another state 1700 miles away from me, did my due diligence on the truck, etc.

Went into a local bank and sold myself. It wasn't easy, man. However, after bending over, plus jumping through every hoop imaginable, I got a commitment letter from the bank at 5.5% interest with 25% cash down payment.

When I went back into to the same bank 6 mos later to obtain a loan on a new truck, followed by a new trailer, it wasn't nearly as hard because I demonstrated to the bank I had established the revenue and also had been making payments on time every month on the first truck I bought with their help.
