Hey guys, I’m a local owner operator and was wondering where I can get some cheap tires. I’ve always run quality tires but have run Chinese tires on trailers. Being local I’m not too concerned with blowouts as I can easily change out tires myself. Seems that even the Chinese tires have gone up in price now a days though, has anybody ever bought tires as a fleet owner in bulk or anything like that straight from the manufacturers? Seems like that would be a way to get them as cheap as possible. I’ve even seen some containers from China that I could get a few guys to buy with me but not sure how reliable that would be.

If anyone knows anything on how to save some money on tires it would be appreciated. Thanks

    Where are you located?

My neighbor is a local dirt hauler, and he uses roadmaster from a local tire dealer here in town.

Salvage Yards You might get a number of them, maybe the 22.5x's as they are being tossed aside in favor of Low profile tires.

In running on a set of salvage tires paid 150 for 4 with nitrogen, balance etc for the truck. Am building up to the sums of dollars needed to put a set of really sticky hankooks on there. After some wrestling I am strictly a pavement cowboy. The vehicle would not accept offroad too much like a tank would.

I’ve purchased tires from these guys before. They promise delivery to nearest fedex location but it has to be a “freight” terminal not a “ground” terminal. They lost one set it transit (fedex) took almost a month to get them. Prices are good if you can tolerate the runaround.

Checked them out earlier today after going to some of the local tire shops. The local guys actually have better prices and I googled one of their tires the long march (heard someone say good things about those once) and those are like 40 dealers cheaper from other retailers. Still looking around and prices have just skyrocketed over the last couple years, honestly looking at buying tires in bulk from somewhere and selling them for 30-40 dollars profit per tire. Would still be much cheaper for most of the owner operators than what other shops are selling them for.

Yeah, thank to Trump's trade wars perhaps? Make sure to shop around and be knowledgeable about the products out there. Some Chinese tires are good some are not, and the good tires sometime cost close to products made here. Recently bought 2 Uniroyal 275/80R22.5 steer tires from Simpletire at around $450 each, Chinese tires are around $400 each so it was easy decision.

Some Chinese tire brands are at link below
