I have a 2013 Columbia glider with 10 speed and 3.42 gear ratio. I did not spec this truck but thought it would be fine for what I do but the 10 speed needs to go. Pittsburg power says $12000 to put in 13 speed. Freightliner calling me back but said around 7000. Wondering if anyone else has already done this and where you went and what it cost.
Where to go for 13 speed

a rebuilt 13 speed will cost around 3500 dollars.you need to shorten the drive shaft.call eaton fuller and they should have somebody in your area.7000 dollars sounds about right but only if they accept your old tranny for a core.
-
wow! had my super 10 rebuilt for 3500 installed.
-
a 13 cost more than a 10 plus theres is more work than a regular remove and replace and since you rebuilt your own tranny there was no core charge required.another thing to consider is what kind of torque you want.something tells me you already know all of this.

Call Fitzgerald. They'll do it cheap.
-
Is yours a 10C? If it is, then it could convert into a 15 speed.
-
I don't know if it's a 10C. If I call freightliner with vin would they be able to tell me or is there a tag on transfer that would say?
-
Oops I ment to say transmission not transfer. Darn auto type.
-
Ok my transmission is a 10C and called my old shop (good mechanic but out of my normal route now) and sounds like maybe it can be converted to 15. Waiting for him to call back when he's got more time. Thanks for the help everyone.

I see you already got it sorted out. But yes, there'll be a tag on the transmission, and Freightliner can look up the specs it was ordered with by VIN number.
