I think you'd be just as well off to switch to one of the laptop logging programs; DDL, Eclipse, etc. The logs are easier to read than handwritten, and you get a visual indication of HOS problems. Never get bit for a math error with them.

    crb and Projektf350 Thank this.

Why waste the time and money on paper logs? Download DDL it's "looseleaf on a laptop". Never have a form and manner violation, never have any screwups - it won't let you. So much faster and simpler than paper logs. One time fee to download, free updates as regs change.

    crb and JPenn Thank this.

Thanks but i dont want to log on my computer.

Is it legal for me to just have 1 copy since i am a 1 man show? if so i suppose i could just print my own out. i refill my own ink and a 500 page pack of printer paper is only $3. or i guess if i had to have 2 copies carbon paper inbetween would be cheap as well.

One copy is fine. Just keep the 7 in hand and then file the rest. I rarely ever printed any extras.

all you need is 7 days plus current. after that, file in the cabinet.

if you use a laptop. it be worth it to pay for online backup if the programs have that. i used trucklogger and that was an added feature.

never know when your laptop might crash.

i bought 4 laptops within my first year. 4th one has lasted a full year now.
