First thing you should tell is where you live. Second is how far are you willing to travel to pick him up. If there is an industrial park in your town. You can see if there are any abandoned warehouses in which he can park at the dock or even on the street.

Some places may have a load zoned bridge or home owners assosiations rules that prohibit parking. Most companies will not pay for storage fees or parking unless you are in cali, or north east where most truck parking has a fee.

There are several enclosed area storage facilities near me that offer paid, secure truck parking and a place to park your car when your out. You could deduct the monthly fee from your taxes as a business expense. I would never just leave my truck in a parking lot for several days.

Leaving your rig on the street in industrial area and at abandoned anythings is the perfect way to have it stolen, broken into, vandalized, etc. You need it on your property where people watch it constantly, or locked up at a storage facility with controlled access and cameras and a 24hr guard. It costs around $150 to $200 per month for a place like this. It's worthit, because there are too many desperate fools out there looking for your stuff.

If you are a company driver, always make it a point to live within an hour drive of a company terminal. Drop yards need to have security patrols, etc.

I don't care who you are, you aren't going to tell me that I can't park MY truck on MY land next to MY house....unless of course you want to take over the mortgage payments and pay the property taxes for me. If you want to pay, you can have a say...otherwise, if you don't like looking at it, turn your head and look somewhere else.

That being said, I park the truck next to the house. Always have. Always will.

Call storage places and get prices. Easiest and safest.

I own my truck. Different from your case, I know. Usually I schedule all of my maintenance stuff for the rig when I am at home and so I leave my truck at my mechanic's shop if I am staying at the house for a week or 4. If I am doing a quick overnighter at the house, I leave the rig at the Waffle House down the street. I know everyone that works there and the regular customers. I leave the trailer at a big mom and pop truck stop 40 miles from the house. My conscience won't allow me to park a loaded truck or drop a loaded trailer, since I am responsible for the load, so I won't go home unless I am empty.
