Hello everyone,
Great site with incredible information. I am looking to purchase a fleet vehicle and was wondering where I could find information on purchasing these vehicles. I would like to purchase a FedEx/UPS/Walmart tractor, but not sure where to find them.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Can't speak for FedEx but UPS destroys their tractors when they're done with them. Couldn't buy one if you wanted to.
windsmith Thanks this. -
Check Salem Truck Leasing, they have some nice used fleet trucks for sale. That's where I got my Peterbilt.

R+L sells their own fleet trucks at a few of their terminals if you're looking for a daycab.
A few Paccar dealers have a rotating fleet lease agreement with smaller companies, so they'll get a few dozen of the same truck in all at once and be itching to get them all resold since they take up a lot of space on the lot. Tons and tons of T2000s and volvos floating around lately if you're looking for a sleeper. -
Taylor&Martin have walmart trucks in their auctions regularly.

Go to Truckpaper.com or pickup a free issue of it at a truckstop. I see ex Wal-Mart trucks at used truck lots all over the country. Most times they seem overpriced but occasionally you can find them with a fair negotiable price. Wal-Mart trucks are normally higher mileage units 700K+ miles but they have a reputation for taking care of equipment... anymore all of them have apu's plus practically zero percent idle time over the life of those miles.. Usually hear of guys having good luck with them..

Lots of companies refuse to sell their used equipment to anyone but dealers. Liability reasons. I guess they can get sued of there are mechanical problems that lead to an accident or something. And in this day when lawyers run everything, they'd rather either sell to a dealer, or scrap them.

When I drove for them I used to see the older trucks repainted grey (with a brush/roller) and sent out the door... the package cars MAY be dismantled... used to see them in dumpsters behind the maintenance shops... -
Just so you know, UPS and FEDEX use single rear axle trucks. WalMart uses tandem axle trucks...... Just sayin'
