I currently run a cobra 29 in the overhead cb cubby and I just bought a Stryker 655 from Walcott cb shop. I noticed on the back of the radio it has cooling fins,

my question is if I can make it fit in the cubby will it work okay. Or does it need to be mounted on the dash where the cb can get cool air to it?

this will be the first big radio I have ever ran and I’m still learning all I can about it. And how it works compared to a cobra that has only been peaked and tuned. thx in advance

Take the radio back, go find someone who can actually align the 29 right - not "peak and tune" and use that.

Then take the money that you got back from the Stryker and put it into the antenna system, get come bonding straps and work on the truck to fix the antenna. DO NOT do the dual antenna system.
