Ok I understand you have 7 trucks, you should be able to leverage the equity in those trucks for a lease-rental with say Ryder or Penske.
what are you going to haul, box truck freight is cheap and very very competitive because the cheapness to getting into it, plus a lot of places don’t want to pay good rates and see a box truck show up to haul it, I have a few customers who have a couple pallets for a load and are paying good coin for those products get to a customer so they won’t load a box truck.

I just talked to Penske and it's not worth, for example if I driving over 3000 miles weekly price will be more then 2000k. I can not make any money this way because truck is for my driver...
Ryder is like 1400 USD and if you drive over 3000 miles they will charge 0.32 cents per mile. It's not bad deal if we drive under 3000 miles but also there is no available trucks at Ryder now...
I am already renting 3 trucks but I have old deals and its around 1000 usd weekly which is ok...
Thanks for understanding! -
if what you say is true and there is a shortage of trucks that means other companies have leased/rented them and they are turning a profit.
just for you to think about.Siinman, kakoide92 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
I do not want to afford it. If you are in trucking I am dure you know what is the price for brand new Freightliner m2? Well, you can not find it new in dealership. It is possible but you have to pay 50% more. Used trucks costs like brand new now and they are basically for garbage soI don't have good feeling to invest money in a used or brand new box trucks...
"look at it this way. If you can’t afford it but others can maybe you are driving for less than others?"
I do not know anyone who can afford 2000 usd for box truck and pay driver, gas, dispatch fee etc etc...
One of the trucks I was renting for 1000. Ryder increased price so I already tried did not work even for team drivers. It would be ok if I have semi trucks but box, no way. You have to fight to make 7k gross, 10k you have to be lucky.
Anyway, the question I posted is probably for someone who has box trucks but thank you for help!Last edited: Jan 14, 2022

sometimes you have to reduce your profit to expand. That’s a call you need to make. good luck on your search as I haven’t seen anyone in this current industry to have any laying around.brian991219 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
I’m confused with something, if your drivers are doing long distance runs, why are you using box trucks and not expedite trucks?
shooter19802003 and Siinman Thank this. -

Because with box truck you dont need a CDL and everyone have regular DL so it's very easy to find drivers what is not case with semi trucks...

As I said it's not possible unless you paid much less what big companies do but I am not that big and I can not find drivers who wanna stay on the road in a box truck 1 month for nothing. -
