    Got a 09:00 delivery appt. Tuesday in Berwyn, Illinois. Gonna make it up to the Gary/Chicago area Monday evening. Any ideas on where to stage and what time to head out. I'd like to be at shipper by 08:00.

    xls, check out google earth. I used to look on there all the time to see what the area was like and parking and such. You can also call the shipper and see what they recommend or what other drivers usually do.

    Yeah, stage in Gary, plenty of truck stops. Then roll early, like 5 am to your delivery. It'll be daylight as you arrive and can pull in or double park or drive around the block until they open the gate.

    Gary will be good for you, but be up and ready to roll at 0500. How are you getting into Berwyn. Leaving at 0500 will give you plenty of time to get over there and set-up. Traffic around Chicagoland/NW Indiana does not usually start to get to bad till about 0630 by then you will already be in Berwyn. Now getting out ? I can't speak for Gary but in the Berwyn area there is some good eats. Just hit up any hotdog or beefstand or pizza place for a slice and pop 5 bucks tops.
