Might want to check out Superior Carriers out of Baltimore. A guy posted in the sub forum that someone came to the school he is in recruiting drivers. It is hard to beat them right out of school pay wise. Where else can a rookie make .50 per mile plus hourly when not driving
Hurst Thanks this. -
I know Maverick used to hire glass haulers out of Md. They take student and have an exelent training program. Glass haulers have a week of flatbed training and a week of glass training. Then out with a trainer for at least a month. No teaming at all. They also have a refer side. They teach it all in orientation from map reading to trip planning.

If I could do it all over again I would have went the regional tanker route. Companies like Superior are now hiring students. Once he get's experience he can get on with Groendyke. Out loaded, back empty. Home throughout the week and weekends.

For what it's worth, Mavericks flatbed training alone was worth 18 months working for them....

Here are two smaller companies.
William N. Mason Inc hauls heavy equipment. I worked there for a while.
There's also A&S Trucking. They do flatbed work and they're ran out of the owner's house, on Queenstown Rd in Severn.Hurst Thanks this. -
