Where would you build or buy a truckstop if you had the money?

Mojave California off hwy14 and hwy58.
Real estate is dirt cheap there, and once the produce trucks pass the Tehachapi scales that would be the perfect time to fuel and take a shower before making a run for the border. I suspect real estate up in Tehachapi would cost a lot more plus they already have a Loves up there.

That's the best idea yet. How about Banning?

I would stick a big one right there in Frederick Maryland, it will replicate everything the old one did and then some. The whole thing was replaced by a stinking costco store that drains money from society. No longer a living breathing home that supported essentially ALL trucking east and down.

Buy the employee parking lot from Farmer John's at the corner of So. Soto and Vernon Ave. In Vernon, CA and only let out of state trucks on the property.

I'd build one along 95 between delaware and philly.

Now there is a spot. Gotta shove amtrack aside though. Not much land.

Maybe the split after Delaware house. Drain the state rest area of trucks after you put a copy of Wolcott north of there.

If your dispatcher actually asked you where you want to go, you're luckier than most.

Mine usually gave us three options. One year they threw 500 for a week off at xmas in Texakarna on top of regular pay. What a hole. But it is what it is. that truck needed to be there to load not too far that year.

Somewhere near Port of Tacoma. Very busy port, with nothing but a broken-down old Love's with very limited parking in a pothole-filled lot. That or somewhere in Sumner, WA, a central location for warehouse after warehouse, and another pile of junk truck stop called the Mustard Seed. That place is probably no more than 15 years old, and it's already been run into the ground.
