Well Beckley is being rebuilt so that’s to be expected. Hopefully they’ll expand the parking along with rebuilding the travel plaza itself.

 

I notice a lot of the new Loves...have numbered truck parking spaces...is Loves going to start paid reserved parking

 

I don't know how many people know this, but there's also a Go Mart truck stop at the very next exit southbound from Tamarack (assuming that's the Beckley you all are talking about). You can actually get to it FROM Tamarack.

And actually, here's where I share my super-top secret G-14 classified Beckley trick: the signs tell you to turn right to exit out of the Tamarack parking lot to get back to the WV Turnpike. You CAN turn left to get out of there, too. Just follow the road as it curves around the visitors center to the T-intersection. Make a left there, then a soft left at the light, follow the main drag for a bit, and then you're right back to the Turnpike. (If you want to get to that Go Mart back there, it'll also be a left-hand turn righ before you get back onto the turnpike.)

They are building a new Loves in Baker City, OR.

First the TA in Huntington. Now a Loves in Baker City. It’s like they realized they needed truck parking between Ontario and La Grande that wasn’t rest areas.

 

It was completely full. It wasn't even that late, maybe 2000.

 

Are they taking over the Baker Truck Corral? Or maybe the one across the street?
