I had a great talk with the owner of the company this afternoon.
I was thinking they will see me as a liability after I'm cleared to drive so I brought that concern up with my boss and the owner.

It was a shock what response I got!
He said do not worry about a thing...period! I will get full pay while I'm out,Anything I need to get through the next couple of weeks no matter what. They will pay my 20% of the hospital bill that insurance does not pay and anything else I need including medication copays and all.
He asked if I needed my lawn mowed,groceries or any help with anything!...I was just speechless!

The guys in the plant also offered to come mow my yard or do anything i needed!

What a blessing to be a part of these fine people! I'm still in shock...lol!

You are fortunate, you are blessed. Some of these "smaller companies" really care about us, man!

 

Yes they sure do! I hope to retire there for sure!
That conversation really made my day and makes you feel like a very valued employee.
This company is doing things right! I doubt they will ever have a driver turnover problem as we grow to more than 2 trucks..

 

We have 5 active, 7 total... LoL. None of us are going anywhere, but ..here! Y/W man. Thought about you long and hard yesterday; I lamented in many threads. Keep YOU first; you are blessed, as am I.

I've been quiet for the last couple of weeks. Vacation and everything. Dam truck broke down the second night I had it since the overhaul. At 2:30 in the morning while I was sleeping no less. $1,250 later, outs running good. Had nothing to do with the OH.

My dedicated run is in a slow period, so I'm either getting days off or doing misc runs. Got a 3 day weekend now. It's 5:00 somewhere right?
