Illegal, no (unfortunately).... immoral? Well yeah....but...
Many customers/receivers will NOT let you do it on their property, believe it or not!

Kind of depends on the product I guess. Normal class 3 or 8, I have no problem, but poisonous gas or inhalation hazard, not so much.

On the SDS, section 12 or 13, i believe, says "Transportation" This will say whether or not it is regulated and if placards are needed. I've had to use thay section several times with shippers that have told me it wasnt hazmat and it doesn't have to be placarded given me the wrong UN number on the BOL or on placards, not to mention, I always re ad it

Well the fine state of Illinois has choosen today
September 20 2017 as profiling or abusing or just plain pick on tanker day.
Earlier coming south on I294 there were 5 trucks pulled over in a 5 mile stretch ALL TANKERS
Rolling past the scales on I80 east of Joliet (got the green light)mostly tankers pulled around back.
I missed the memo I guess
So all my fellow tankers be ware

I got through pretty much unscathed. It was pretty early on 294 though with a 6am load appointment in N Chicago. Had another hour and a half of drive time but said screw it after 2 wreck back ups on 70 in Indiana Going to bed and be in WV by sunrise.

It's not regulated for transportation it says in section 14, guess it's just deadly to us humans but it's ok for the environment.

I know right where your at. bout 3 miles down and take a left and probably 3/4 of a mile.
At Monsanto there will be a staging area on your left before the guard/scale house
You have to pull in there and you'll see a sign with the scales phone number to call and they'll let you know if there ready for you. They are pretty tight with their appt. times, so don't start your clock too early

Edit: scale #1 563 262 7408, If you want to call them before leaving T stop.
been there so many times got the # in my phone
