Depends on the blend. I haul the same stuff FR-LC (or FR-300) , but we pick up 2 more blends FR-CAT and FR-76. Is we swap blends Solvay wants us to wash out. We didn't used to when we first started these runs, but now we do.
I've been haul FR-LC since the second week of September and haven't washed out once. I clean the dome lid everytime I pop it at a customer and I try and keep the external valve clean as well. I'm the only one that does it and the operators love me. I guess on some of the other trailers, our guys never do anything and there's 2 inches of jelly up there. Make the wash out guys furious when they see stuff like that. You hit it once with a power wand and it goes EVERYWHERE . Basically a snot bomb lol

Do you guys usually have / leave any heel with the snot? That's the 'issue' with Asphalt... you can pump / PTO til you are blue in the face, and never get it all. 6122 and 3257 are both hot and similar enough, we only 'wash out' at the end of the season; and with the late start seems like we are actually in the crux of it, now.
At least you are doing it right, man. You'll be appreciated, and remembered, overall.

Yeah there will always be some heel. With LC and a pump unload, maybe 5 gallons from all the residual on the sides.
Not if it was CAT and or a air unload, There's mores, nothing too terrible. Nothing like your stuff. That weird asphalt crap I had a few weeks ago coated every square inch on the inside and stuck :(

Hahahahaha... yep... our stuff tends to do that, LoL !! It coats every inch of your boots and PPE too, and NEVER really comes loose.

5 gal's isn't really too bad, for y'alls product. I'm still ROFLMAO about the asphalt crap.. haha!

Got a Plaquemine load for this week. Headed out Monday morning just south of Nate. Had a couple of back ups in Greenville and Atlanta that cost me some drive time. Still figured I could make it to my normal stopping spot Loves at exit 9 on I65 when I rolled past the 19 with 21 minutes on the clock.

Ran right into a wreck back up just past the 19 and the Pilot. Quickly went on duty in the elog. Problem was I only had 30 minutes on the 8 hour clock. Wound up pulling over on the shoulder for a 30 min break to get my 21 minutes back.

Wound up at the light on the exit ramp with 00:00 on the clock. On duty for my post trip real quick and got by without a log write up.

Just sat for a restart. During my post trip on Sunday I Saw a suspicious wet spot on the side of the frame behind my left front drive dual. It was odd. I pondered it until the stench of piss made me heave and I scampered away to finish my post.
Did my pretrip, west spot still there and it was tacky so I thought it was grease or something from the 5th wheel or when I got my last service done. It was odd and I pondered it until ,once again, I was driven away by the stench of piss.

Why people throw their piss out from the cab or the sleeper is just so...........why the H.......just ewwwew!

I get to my customer on Shreveport and , while waiting, decide to top off some tires with air. Only a few where a few pounds shy.

I get to that front left drive and when I do the inside tire, the chuck comes back covered in oil.

    Son. Of. A. *censored*

So I loaded and came back to the Loves, which is right next to the J that I just did a 34 at, because my company won't let me take it to a real mechanic.

2.5 hours later and counting, they haven't finished either of the 2 trucks before me, which isn't saying much, because it's taken them 4 hours to do 3 new tires on me before and replacing 2 airlines took 2 hours.

Point being? Don't become complacent on your pretrips. I check my tires and do a visual inspection from the 5th wheel looking down. With the shadows and such, oil on the tire was hard to spot. We have black fenders and I didn't catch the oil splashed up on the bottom, because I wasn't honestly never thought to look up. I'm always checking the duals for cracks and debris. This one time I didn't do it, I missed oil on the inside tire and I could have had it fixed on my day off, instead on my whole week being thrown out of whack now.

Pre and post trips. Do them the same way, everyday. Regardless of piss aroma.

No one to blame but me :(

9.5 hours later, they're done. I lay down to try and sleep a few hours. Get 45 minutes into it and get woken up by a phonecall. Dont catch it in time. No message. Look up number, it's loves. Get dressed, walk back to shop. They had forgotten to mark my number off the check in sheet.. ...... dude who called was the same guy who checked me out.

This is why I can't own a firearm. I'd have walked back to the truck, gotten it, walked back to the office, and emptied the clip into the check in sheet and his phone, then walked back to the truck and went back to bed.

Been a busy week. Took a load out to Kalamazoo, MI and then tankwashed in Markham. Then live loaded up in carpentersville and took that over to Baltimore MD. Dropped the dirty at the Dana and live loaded at an Eastman plant in the middle of nowhere, MD. Delivering this tomorrow morning in Willow Springs early tomorrow morning. Hopefully I get something nice and easy heading back east like to NY or MA that I can take my time with this weekend.
