If things continue to go bad then I guess your gonna have to start looking for something better rte like I did. I don’t wanna be one of those drivers that swaps jobs every year that’s for sure. It was hard for me to finally decide to leave schneider mainly because I’m comfortable here and I have a really good driver manager. And they have took good care of me and everything I needed. The major things is just some of their pay is too low like layover and detention pay.Which matters a lot when you have to sit and wait or get delayed loading/unloading. I do believe in the next year or two they will raise the pay in the categories I mentioned. Their cpm and stuff is great. I plan on staying with SC for the long haul especially since everyone makes same cpm. And they even pay holiday pay, that’s something I don’t have at schneider. If I’m correct they told me after 1 year I get 2 weeks payed vacation. At schneider I got 1 week that payed only 500 bucks. So far it seems to sound and look on paper a lot better. Schneider cpm is alittle higher and unloading pay but that’s it. SC wins everything else. I hope I made the right decision

I wanna explain how schneider works, you put in a NAT during your current load, it’s next available time. When they pay attn to you, you should have your next job just show up thru Qualcomm starting sometime after that NAT u sent in. This is what use to happen with me for first year. I always knew my next job and kept running. Last 5 months or so I haven’t had not 1 job sent to me like they should. I have to call in every time and ask ya got any work. At that time I can hear in their voice they have no idea where I’m at or that I even need a job. So basically their NAT system broke down on my driver number or something. My NAT been updated since I left Charlotte and here I am in Memphis now and done unloaded and dropped trailer and have no work at all to do or even start planning out. So that 340 dollars I made yesterday will get cut in half because today I’ve drove 9 payed miles and did a unload. Total for today is 39 dollars and I will not get anything else to do I’m sure till tomorrow. (If I’m lucky tomorrow) .. I should be able to talk to a dispatch person or something to atleast get an idea or information on possible next load but no. We do not get to talk to any dispatch people. We only talk to a driver manager that fix’s pay stuff or changes trailers in system etc.. So i just sit and wait for however long (days sometimes) till a load magically appears on the Qualcomm. Their has to be a better way. Atleast a call to the driver to say there is no work till Thursday or Friday atleast would be helpful. But nope, just sit and wait and check Qualcomm every hour is all we can do. I shouldn’t care since I’m leaving but I like the company and for them to keep real drivers they gonna have to address these things. Out of the 12 people I had in my class that started with schneider in 2016 I am the last and only one still here. There was 2 of us left about 3 months ago but I haven’t seen him since. U think by looking at numbers like this it would be easy for some higher up pencil pusher to realize something needs fixed.

That was the biggest change for me when I moved from SNBC to Superior. It is so nice calling and getting a dispatcher that knows what they are doing and can give you a definitive solution to whatever problem you have. Even the after hours people are great, not like Schnieders C team that puts you on hold for 45 minutes hoping you give up. The one thing I will warn you about tho, is don't count on doing relays. You load it you unload it 95% of the time, very rarely they'll relay but only if theres a mechanical or home emergency or just trying to get a driver home without deadheading but even then its rare.
    Good luck on the switch!

That's why I absolutely watch what I say. I don't have many complaints but I also don't share everything just because you never know who from corporate is reading and what their agenda might be.

I just hope the detention pay really starts after 14 hours off duty. It sounds alittle to good to be true. I’m betting I will have to stay off duty 24 hours before it starting. Which I can live with to

I will be off duty 20 hours before I have to leave tomorrow to get loaded. Means I missed the 65 dollar layover by 4 hours. Actually it will be 21 hrs so missed it by 3.

Supperior told me something like layover pay starts after 14 hrs off duty at 16 dollars a hour. So 160 for 24 off and then your 14 starts over that we have to do off duty. I hope I heard it right because this sounds a lot better than what I’m use to
