I asked dispatch if it was a customer requirement and they gave me an emphatic, "NO". I should have just done it on my own but not being familiar with the product I went with their direction. I learned a lot on that trip.

Bud A., 88 Alpha and 77fib77 Thank this.

I asked dispatch if it was a customer requirement and they gave me an emphatic, "NO". I should have just gone and done it as it might have saved me a good seven hours of unload time. I learned a lot on this trip.

If dispatch told me no then I wouldn't do it. But I would get paid for that extra time too.

Bud A. and ChicagoJohn Thank this.

Some products can be damaged by in transit heat. I would never run it if dispatch said not to.

Bud A. and slim shady Thank this.

Ammonium Nitrate. It's loaded hot so in-transit heat wouldn't have damaged the product. When I got to the receiver I was at 165*. Interesting stuff.

I only hauled that once. It went to a dynamite plant. Interesting place.

Bud A. and spindrift Thank this.

Dealing with a frozen load of methacrylic acid MAA now myself... appears it's frozen at the internal. The temp gauge reads 70F window is 60-90F from what I understand but the customer couldn't get any flow. Get to try for a delivery again tomorrow. Then handle another pickup and delivery all in one day, got a feeling I'm gonna be stuck out.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

I haul a lot of MAA. Never had a freeze-up. Good luck.
