You say you have dual mounted on the bumper you haven't sida what kind so it would be hard to guess what your system is now. but if you want to talk straight off the front and very little off either side or the back then keep the duals on the back and go to 102 inch stainless steel whips. make sure your co phase harness is good and you will be good. if you want a better over all and all around efficiant system look for somthing you can mount in the center of the cab like a base load wilson or an old stand by antenna specialest base loaded antenna.

its just a crap radioshack kit
i want dual whips just i need to know what brand and what size -
102 inch stainless steel i think wilson stil makes them but not sure.

hate to be a pain in the ### but my garage gives me 5 foot that i have to work with and they have to be without a mount because i have the mounts drilled into my bumper a steel whip or fiberglass doesnt matter i just want the best i can get for around 20-35 dollars per antenna im trying not to be cheap yet not expensive

I'd find the tallest fiberglass antenna that you can mount on the bumper and still fit in the garage...preferably a Francis Firestick.
Short that, I'd get a single 102" and spring (to make it a 108" length) and get a clip so you can fold it over to fit in your garage...
Or I would find a Wilson 1000/5000 magnetic that unscrews from the magnetic base and stick that on your roof.

so firestiks are as good as they say? because I notice that everyone seems to have them.

I've ahd pretty good luck with them, and also Wilson Silver load too. Also two are not better than one unless you can get them over 8 and 1/2 feet apart. A quarter wavelength (about 108 inches) is what is necessary for any benefit over a single antenna. Buy the best coax and mount you can afford. A good antenna setup will do more to make a cheap radio work well.

thanks very much i few days ago i put on my firestiks not bad for what they are alot better than radioshack brand. i also bought a 30 dollar thing of silver coax and a spare radio so i can just use the pa easier when i choose 2

Your not going to get any better then 102 inch steel wip. I would do as suggested and tie it down to the front. This will give you the best reception.
