CDL school is first and foremost a business designed to get your fee.
The school I just graduated from even told me that they only care that you can be safe enough not to kill anyone on the road. If I had more time and it was available in Las Vegas, I would have gone to a community college program. Private CDL schools have to turn and burn students to make money, because running a trucking school is expensive. The company you go to will have more motivation to train you because they have a vested interest in making you a decent driver due to the insurance they have to pay.
