    Update: So I have a contract with Schneider National for dry van and Maverick Transportation for flatbed? Which one should be best to transition into tankers? Schneider National will sponsor my cdl training from SAGE and Maverick will sponsor me for ASU.

    Have you checked with Prime, tanker division?

    If you want tanks, I don’t know why you’ve ended up with two options that don’t have anything to do with tanks.

    Either one; doesn't matter. Most tanker companies just want CDL-A experience OTR and don't care what type trailer you were pulling. Altom required 12 mos. tanker experience is an exception.
    Schneider will probably let you switch to tankers in 6 mos. Ask about that.

    I don’t mind getting experience of backing up with a dry van before I get an opportunity to switch to tankers. I like what Schneider offers and they will help me get a CDL.

    Go anywhere you can get some driving experience. I started in a strait truck hauling rolloff dumpsters, went to doing pop in side bays, then to ltl pulling 53 foot vans. Now Im haulung crude oil.

    Get your foot in the door. Get that year of experience and then the doors that you want will open up.
