Which companies do a only urine test

No they all take urine to the federal lab requirement. Look in the DOT regs, says zilch about hair.

 

Ok I was told hair can go back 10 years.

Lets say it does go back just 3 or 4 months. What if you went and had a root canal or something months ago, and took a few Vicodin for a few days, albeit prescribed by a dentist, your gonna pop positive with hair right? So now you have a positive test.

The last thing I did as an electrician - I was the Quality Assurance manager for one of the biggest, maybe even the biggest electrical contractors in Phoenix. The project was the new Intel fabrication plant in Chandler. I had access to the robots that make the chips. $10K background check. Urine test, oh yes. But no hair. That's some serious top secret stuff, why wouldn't they take hair in a situation like that?

I think everyone comes here asking the same question, saying they're trying to better themselves. The old homeless man in Philly today on US1 with the clean shoes and socks, smoking a cigarette with the PLEASE HELP sign tried to sell me the same story. Actually all the homeless on the truck routes near philly do.

And we haven't had a "which company piss test and which hair test" thread in a good long while. So we were do.

My advice, stay clean for a year or so, work a factory for the time and only after being clean for a year. Come back and ask us who is a good company to start with.

And another thing, why do post drug users think this is the job for them? I do not understand why they all want to be truckers. This isn't the 70's and 80's anymore.

 

All carriers per FMCSA rules MUST do urine tests. The FMCSA at this point does not accept hair tests in place of urine tests. There has been some talk about changing this but as far as I know it has not happened yet.

I don't believe or rather buy any story from the so called homeless.Use to till I seen one who at that time was limping looking for money handouts,seen a week later nice cloths well groomed and not limping.

 

Judging by the assorted animals, losers and anti-social types we have in this business, I'm thinking former addicts might be an improvement.
