Which companies have automatics?

Auto's suck

 

Automatics could be practical if driven conservatively and designed correctly. But IF may not be present in either or both cases.

There was someone on this forum that did this very same thing. He chose a company solely on the reason that they have automatics. 8 months later he quit and could not get a job anywhere because he could not drive a regular transmission. He is now unemployable until he pays $2500 for a refresher course to learn to drive a manual transmission.

I highly advise you do not choose a company because they have automatics. A lot of companies are actually phasing them out because they are too costly to maintain and repair and are more likely to have problems. USexpress is changing the entire fleet over from auto's to manuals.

I think that if you are too scared to shift a truck then maybe you should get a job driving a school bus or something.

 

Yup. I am aware of a couple private fleets that went automatic, yet are now changing back to manuals.
