Back in 2015, JB Hunt used to pay me to take my reset in Rensselaer, IN. I was on their Falcon Packaging Account out of Greenville, OH. The fleet manager liked my work ethic and told me that they'd slide me more money if I didn't mind staying within the vicinity of the plant during my 34. I was also paid extra at JB Hunt on the YKK-AP when I'd decide to forego hometime in order to reset near the first consignee.

How hard was pulling HazMat Tankers? What I mean is what extra stuff did you have to do for it and annoying were they? Like no tunnels, going around the extra miles cause there's no HazMat roads, these kinds of stuff.

I found it quite simple overall. If there a tunnel or road where no hazmat allowed, just go a different route. You're being paid hub miles, so no loss to the driver on pay.

Non trucking jobs don't get paid on their days off, so why would truck drivers get pay on their days off? Most companies don't even pay drivers while they are waiting to get loaded or unloaded. Most truck drivers are exempt from overtime pay, how about we start there.

I liked it just fine. Easy work and decent people to interact with at shippers & receivers.

I've never worked for a company that didn't pay detention pay while loading or unloading or waiting to do either.
I always ask about that before accepting a job.

@Chinatown was this because hazmat needed to be supervised even on reset time or did it matter if you were bobtail on reset
