Hey everyone I live right in pa and I just finished my cdl school and there are 3 flat bed companies I'm looking at. Heard it all from the recruiters but I wanted to hear it from you all. The companies are TMC PGT and Yourga. All I want to know is how is the money. They all are percentage. My only concern is I make enough since I have a family of 4. I am prior service so TMC looks pretty good. Any info would be appreciated. What do you usually haul?
What is your average take home?
Good management?
Home time?
Which company do you recommend

Which one pays the highest percentage?
Yourga looks pretty good though; The company has a fleet of 99 tractors and approximately 112 trailers that it purchases new. The tractors purchased in the last five years have hands-free audio communication, GPS, satellite radio and auxiliary power units. -
I empathize with you; my first job out of cdl school I had a family of 5 depending on me and it was rough because there was no internet website like this to research companies. I really struggled and hope you don't have to.
As far as paychecks go, probably can't go wrong with TMC from what their drivers post.
I like Yourga due to their customer base being oil and gas fields mostly. Looks like their loads are done at the terminals instead of some union steel mills.
Another energy industry product that Yourga Trucking transports is noise suppression equipment for compression stations. These consist largely of prefabricated buildings that surround compressors and diesel engines to muffle their sound and reduce noise pollution.
Yourga also handles pipe for electrical conduit, sprinkling systems, fencing and water and natural gas systems.
What type benefits do you need? Which company offers the best deal for medical benefits? That can mean a big difference in the paychecks. -
Percentage is a give and take. I drove for tmc straight out of school, and took a spot with pgt after 6 months with tmc. For what @Chinatown says, which pays more percentage is partly right. It also depends who has higher rates on their freight. Ive got friends at both places, and ive compared rates from same loads at both places going similar distances. Pgt rates tend to a little higher. For insurance, pgt insurance is cheaper, and covers better. For freight amounts, tmc had more. As for opportunities of different divisions such as heavy haul, specialized, and things like that, pgt hands down. After a year, if you have shown you can do the job safely, without service failures, you can put in for switching over to heavy haul m72 fleet, or over to specilaized where they will start you out on smaller specilaized loads. I have a good friend over at pgt specilaized and he loves it
Chinatown Thanks this. -
