I'd say check into the safety scores for each company you are considering.
Note how their pay scale works, home time, vacation, etc.

I don't think you should make your decision based on comments here.

    Everyone's experience is different.

Good luck to you sir, and keeps us posted on where you go to.

I'm not opposed to flat-bed. That's why I talked Maverick. I also talked with Crete, but Jeff Dady, Driver Development Manager, said they did not presently hire fron Cross Country. He did send me an email and said that he had contacted them and hoped to get things worked out very soon so they could start hiring from there.

I hope this helped a bit. I have some personal experience with Covenant, so I know where of I speak. As far as the others, there's plenty more negative than positive. Where theres smoke, ya?

If I were to start over again, I'd go flatbed all the way. That said, I gotta say the overall best drivers I've ever seen are the tanker-yankers. Unlike the rest of us, tankers deal with freight that shifts almost constantly, which makes them some of the most...aware...drivers out there. And awareness equals safety, which equals making it home. Just my .02. Well, maybe .015, considering inflation.:biggrin_2559:

    Blue Knight,

Sorry I can't reply to your private message cause I haven't posted enough (what, 7 posts?). I'm near Philly, so looks like we'll be running out of different terminals. If you want to talk of the phone, feel free to private message me your cell number and I'll be glad to talk to you. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck!

Some hazmat tank loads require a clean chin for respirators. A friend used to haul copper arsenic napthenate. Green stuff in pressure treated lumber. He had a complete suit. Once you loaded a trailer with that stuff? That was all you could ever put in it. Placards had a skull and cross bones. Either that he was a pirate!:biggrin_2559:

SNI is a good choice for newbie's Blue Knight. I would check into JBS Carriers as well. Stay away from Covenant and CR England as they are the worst of the worst.
