I think I read of problems with the world nav. Don't know about the PC Miler version. I'll stick with my Garmin Nuvi.

You been driving 20 years ? Just go with a Garmin, you know most the routes anyway.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 205w (4.5 inch), works great. I've used it east to west, and in between. It sells for $250 at the Pilot. Or $189 at Wal-Mart. You can get it in a smaller screen version (3.5 inch)...The Nuvi 205 for $149 at Wal-Mart.

Most folks I have talked to about the PCMiler and other "truck specific" GPS units, are not amused at all to find out that "truck specific" means it shows you where the truck stops are.

well in all my years i have always used the trusted atlas and i am getting sick of that. I was out with a buddy who had a garmin 330 and what a joy it is, just verify all the roads and cruise away and nice for logging load checks and finding out what town your in. It would just be nice to try to get one that had a truck option on it and limit the amount of messing around i have to do with it. I would never use it in the big citties but it sure is nice on the open road.

I like using my laptop GPS for inner city deliveries.... I have a 17 inch screen. And can see for 10 blocks in any direction. So I don't panic (often) if I miss a turn.

Actually, it's (Garmin) quite useful in the big cities. But it's great on the open road. Quick glance, you know how far you have to go, have far you've come. Running backwater town to backwater town, is much easier. Provided you know better than to turn down a dirt road.

And the voice option is great for those of us who zone out and forget we need to take a certian exit LOL

It will get you in a pickle if you aren't careful. But experience and common sense go a long way when it comes to the last few miles of any trip.

We all know we can't take the tunnels into NYC :biggrin_25525: Don't we ???

    bangngears Thanks this.

well i never used the tunnels but for years i ran a car hauler from south florida to hudson,nh. I was up and down the I-95 and only bounced off to drop snowbirds. Now i am going to be all 48 and i guess i will go with a garmin for the added help but i dont want it talking to me LOL

LOL... Most if not all have an OFF switch for the voice option.

Actually. My favorite function of my GPS...... It let's you know well ahead of time what direction you have to exit/split/turn. No more wondering which lane you need to be in 99.999% of the time.

That function alone makes my Garmin worth the price in most cities. Especially in rush hour traffic.
