I have been reading about both Pam and central refrigerated. Seems like central maintains there trucks better. I have been accepted to them both, what should I choose? Thanks for your input.
Which is a better company

Central pays more (by 2 cents/mi)...I drove for them and they were really good to me. They are one of the better "starter" companies. Do NOT LIE to them about even the tiniest little thing as they can and will find it. They have a lot of former LEO's working for them (I guess most large carriers do no from what I hear).
Nothing against PAM as I have never driven for them so I can't give you any info. I used to work right next door to them and the office personnel seemed good and the company culture seemed ok.Toast24 Thanks this. -
Neither one! Stay away from the mega carriers.

Is your choice based on school reimbursement ?

Central!
Good pay and everyone of the drivers I have talked to had nothing bad to say about them -

Check out Stephens out of Dallas if your looking for a training company. I've got a younger Cousin who went there and had good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I have my cdl already but do not have a air brake endorsement. When I got my cdl I had to take the written test on air brakes but when I took my road test the truck I took it in didn't have air brakes so they couldn't test me on air brakes. I drove Otr for a year as a hot shot car hauler but have no tractor trailer experience.
I went and did everything on my own to get my cdl. Didn't go though any schooling. And again everybody thanks for the info. -
I currently work for PAM, not the best company and not the greatest company but they will work with you. I have my downsides about them and my goods about them. The pay is not great, equipment is well maintain (trailers we won't go there). If you can prove yourself to be a good runner they will give you miles, but if you get out there and don't know what to do they will throw out crappy runs. I can't speak for other companies, but I've learned to roll with the punches with PAM and keep on rolling.
