which is better to tune an antenna.... radio's SWR meter or separate?

I have a 29 classic the swr meter on the radio reads 2.5 on 1 2.9 on 19 and 3.2 on 40 the swr meter that hooked up was 1 on 1 1.3 on 19 and 1.4 on 40 .witch one should I go by.

 

I wouldn't go by either one I would have someone hook an antenna analyzer up to it.
Unless you're using an electrical half wavelength of cable you will get an inaccurate reading with any SWR meter
