Which is easier to move a CDL to, UT or CO?

    May be a choice coming up, haven't lived and n either one yet. Imagining that CO will be more of a PITA...

    Should be easy. Just go in, pay some money and everything should transfer over. Except hazmat. For hazmat you have to do the whole thing over.

    My understanding is only Illinois and California require you to get a new one. All others will transfer.

    I transferred from Ohio to Utah in 2012. Only certain offices in Utah handle a CDL so I had to drive an hour and a half to get to the right place. Other than that, not bad.
    eye test and self certify my med card.
    You need birth certificate and two pieces of official mail showing you live in UT.
    They give you a paper temp license that day and send the hard card in the mail.
