I am thinking of becoming a truck driver again after going through a lot of bull#%*+! With Swift transportation 4 yrs. ago. So I have been doing some research here on the reviews, but after reading a lot of nightmares Ive gotten down to four. Now this is where I need some help because I dont know If theyre good choices but these are the ones that sounded less sh!++¥. FFF transportation, Schneider National, May Trucking and maybe Knight Transportation. I just need to go through a refresher course because I have my C.D.L. And my record is clean and no problem with staying out three or four weeks as long as they keep me moving and making money i dont have a problem, I can take a lot of sh!#.If I can get feedback on all these Companys from people who actually work there or have worked there in the past year, good or bad it would be great thanks.
Which is the best starter Company

If you are the same person you were 4 years ago, you will have the same problems. The BS is the same. It is how we handle BS that changes.
Trucking Popeye, jimvrg and Honch Thank this. -
Thanks wooly rhino I appreciate your honesty. I know there is no perfect company out there I'm just trying to weed out the ones with less turnover rates. For example Swift has more than Schneider and others. But I don't want to be out there three four weeks and be sitting half of the time and sending home 250-350 a week like last time do you know what I mean. I want to work hard while I'm out there and expect to get paid at least 600wk. to start my sacrifice.

Apparently, you didn't do much research.....because you have Knight on your list.
Do me and yourself a favor....and remove them from your list.Dna Mach Thanks this. -
Hahaha! Ok white dog you got it they are gone. Any others you suggest? FFE and Schneider look pretty good what do you think?
-
Sorry....I have no experience with large "starter companies" other than Knight, and 8 horrorific miserable weeks with J.B. Hunt (keep them off your list also); so I can't help you with what company or companies to look at----just steer you away from impending Knightmares.

Go to the "Discuss Your Favorite" forum, and see wich ones appear to be more truthful than others. Good luck. -
NNNOOOOOO!!!!!! Stay away from Schneider National. Not going to put them on blast just yet because I still work here (for now) but not a wise investment if you want to work for a company you can take pride in as well as pay your bills with!!

Depending where you live, I'd recommend Watkins Shepard...They don't have trainer time when you're fresh out of school, you'll get a remedial of some kind but even if full orientation, it's only 10days and you're on your own...
-
You may want to consider lookng at the Prime threads also, As far as the ones you listed the only one I would even consider looking at would be MAY
-
No. I heard a lot of crap on prime. There was a guy at the orientation at Swift who had a bad time 4 yrs. ago with prime. I appreciate your help Easy but no. FFE Sounds like a good outfit what do you guys think? Or May trucking any comments on them?
