he just sent me a text with a pic of it. camera eye is the top center of the tablet/panel.
-
then put a sticker on it like every body else does in the company...
The tablet got on in the front and one in the back ..., after all its just a tablet like any others.
Now If your front camera records too much crap, you ll have some 'splaning to do, and could face driver review depending on the situations recorded by the truck. -

OK, just saw the photo. That's one of our units(PeopleNet != Qualcomm), but they claim the lens in question is a 'light sensor,' so I cover it up(easily done). If it really is a sensor, no harm, and if it actually is a camera, they won't admit to it, so I win either way.

Well, Old Dominion is no longer on the list of carriers that arent using driver facing cameras.
Trusted friend that works for them saw them in the new trucks at the terminal and was told by Safety they will be company policy soon. -

These driver facing dash cams break multiple laws and not just obstruction of view and driver distractions but National Labor Relations Administration laws. It's an intrusion on solitude or seclusion and interferes with the workers right to improve working conditions. When cameras are blatantly used for retaliatory action that negatively affect conditions of employment. NLRA section 7 comes into play and multiple state statues on privacy involving even office employees. Then there are criminal laws on capturing photos under stalking employees on and off duty not driving. The electronic logs also held up by court legal precedent are hostile harassment of drivers. Just because lobbyist paid millions to enact FMCSR 5301 does not void out the state laws or other federal laws that protect employees. "This is why Donald Trump won the election as a law and order candidate; and that statement alone can get you fired from some corporate manager who uses surveillances." They are intrusion on solitude that interferes with any employees political or unionized ability to improve working conditions. The corporate manager can use video footage for blackmail and extortion too. Robbins v. Lower Merion School District is a federal class action lawsuit where FBI found over 700 captured nude photos of teenagers at home from school issued laptops to socioeconomically depressed students with spyware attached. No criminal charges by FBI because schools nationwide were using this blackmail extortion practice. Even law enforcement needs "probable cause" to use surveillances on citizens. Dash cameras under drivers control is not a threat but management seriously opens up the door for blackmail and unsafe roads.
X-Country Thanks this. -
The employer violates NRLA section 8(a)(1) by using dash cams merely because of the possibility of unionization of employees. Section 7 protected concerted activity.
