I'm going to start sending in Applications next month to companies. I had a clean driving record up until last night when the dang California Highway Patrol pulled me over and gave me a ticket. 2 correctable violations and 1 non-correctable, which was for unsafe vehicle on roadway (my car was too low), I checked online and according to the DMV website, that violation will give me 1 point on my license. This is the second ticket i have received since getting my license, the first was for tinted windows and was taken care of. I'm hoping that companies won't mind that I have 1 point on my license, and it's not like it was running a stop sign or speeding, or reckless driving. But any helpful thoughts on that would be appreciated.

But back to the point, does anyone know names/phone numbers/email addresses/ of recruiters with central and swift that know what they are talking about and won't act too much like a used car salesman?

    Thanks :biggrin_255:

I'm pretty sure your ticket will not effect anything especially knowing California is broke and will ticket if you walk wrong ha ha 1 point is nothing to worry about but anything after you get a cdl in a commercial vehicle or personal is now a 1.5 point violation and is non-correctable.
Unfortunately I haven't met too many recruiters that arent trying to sell you something I do have a number for you to call she can talk with you she is one of the instructors at the fontana school and she will more than likely hand you to Jennie the recruiter there both really nice people call the main number and use extension 8572 if that doesn't work let me know ill pm you her cell

I am looking at going back with May trucking but I don't know either.

My recruiter turned out to be great. Every single thing she told me, good or bad, turned out to be the case. When she did not know something she admitted it and made an effort to find out for me. And believe me, I really "used" her a lot in learning about Swift before committing to it. Along with research from about every other source I could find to confirm what she said. And she followed up after I was hired and made certain I was reimbursed for my fuel for driving to and from orientation (which is your option if it costs less than a greyhound ticket from your home to orientation and back.) One word of advice, generally speaking, about Swift and likely any other company: DO NOT LIE on your app! They WILL find it and I watched people kicked out for all manners of things. Some of which would have been acceptable had they not lied.

Her name is Melody Gonzalez and she is out of Phoenix. I would highly recommend her.

Thanks everyone, I am thinking about swift and central because I need to go to a school to get my class A and I think it's just swift central and England that offer schooling, and I'm not going with England lol

I just talked to a swift recruiter this morning and she said you have to be 23 to be hired by swift, or 21 with military experience, Central is still 21 though
